lushy bouquet of sunflowers in a bulbous vase, strongly impasto still life painting with broad, lively brushwork, alternating between matt and silk-matt colour sections, oil on hardboard, signed and dated "G. Sch. [19]81" at upper right, somewhat in need of cleaning, framed, folding dimensions approx. 66 x 96 cm. Artist's info: German painter and draughtsman (1930 Plauen to 1999 Plauen), 1946-50 apprenticeship as a decorative and sign painter, from 1955 attended courses at the Schneeberg Art School and the Dresden College of Fine Arts (HBK), friendly encouragement by the Vogtland painter Fredo Bley, from 1968 member of the Association of Fine Artists (VBK) of the GDR, active in Meßbach and Plauen.
