Antikenrezeption Kopf des Menelaos/Aias
um 1900, verso Gießerstempel, Bronze hellbraun patiniert, Antikenrezeption eines Teils der sogenannten Pasquino-Gruppe, das Vorbild findet sich derzeit in den Vatikanischen Museen in Rom und eine sehr ähnliche Skulptur, die ebenfalls das Bergen von Patroklos Leichnam durch Menelaos darstellt, in Florenz in der Loggia dei Lanzi, altersgemäß gut erhalten, auf rundem Serpentinsockel, dieser an der Oberkante mit kleinen Kerben, H Büste 18,5 cm, H gesamt 20,5 cm.
Antique reception head of Menelaus/Aias
circa 1900, foundry stamp on verso, bronze light brown patinated, antique reception of a part of the so-called Pasquino group, the model can currently be found in the Vatican Museums in Rome and a very similar sculpture, also depicting the recovery of Patroclus' body by Menelaus, in Florence in the Loggia dei Lanzi, in good condition for its age, on a round serpentine base, the upper edge with small notches, h bust 18.5 cm, h total 20.5 cm.
