Konvolut von 42 Farbholzschnitten aus dem Zyklus "Der Totentanz zu Basel", unsigniert, teils mit Titelbezeichnung in Blei, meist gut erhalten und einige unter Passepartout montiert, Blattmaße ca. 50 x 39,5 cm. Künstlerinfo: das ist Helmut Andreas Paul Grieshaber, dt. Graphiker und Maler (1909 Rot an der Rot bis 1981 Eningen unter Achalm), studierte an der Kunstgewerbeschule Reutlingen, 1926-27 Schriftsetzerlehre in Reutlingen und parallel bis 1928 Kalligraphiestudium in Stuttgart, 1928-31 Studienaufenthalte in London und Paris, anschließend Studienreisen nach Ägypten und Griechenland, 1933-45 mit Berufsverbot belegt, 1951-53 Lehrer an der Bernsteinschule bei Sulz am Neckar, 1955-60 Professor und Nachfolger Erich Heckels an der Akademie Karlsruhe, erhielt zahlreiche Preise und Ehrungen, beteiligte sich an den documenten 1, 2 und 3, tätig in Eningen unter Achalm und Reutlingen, Quelle: Wikipedia, Vollmer und Internet.

Convolute of 42 coloured woodcuts from the cycle "Der Totentanz zu Basel", unsigned, some with title inscription in lead, mostly well preserved and some mounted under passepartout, sheet dimensions approx. 50 x 39,5 cm. Artist info: this is Helmut Andreas Paul Grieshaber, Germ. Graphic artist and painter (1909 Rot an der Rot to 1981 Eningen unter Achalm), studied at the school of arts and crafts in Reutlingen, 1926-27 apprenticeship as a typesetter in Reutlingen and at the same time until 1928 calligraphy studies in Stuttgart, 1928-31 study visits to London and Paris, afterwards study trips to Egypt and Greece, 1933-45 banned from working, 1951-53 teacher at the Bernsteinschule near Sulz am Neckar, 1955-60 professor and successor to Erich Heckel at the Karlsruhe Academy, received numerous prizes and honours, participated in documenten 1, 2 and 3, worked in Eningen unter Achalm and Reutlingen, source: Wikipedia, Vollmer and Internet.
