sechs Blatt mit der Darstellung verschiedener Bauten und Gebäudeensembles, teils mit Figurenstaffage, erfunden von de Vries und verlegt bei Philipp Galle in Antwerpen, Kupferstiche, um 1600, meist in der Platte bezeichnet "Vriese inv." und "Galle exud.", Blätter teilweise beschnitten, teils etwas fleckig, Darstellungsmaße ca. 16 x 21 cm, Blattmaße ca. 18 x 23,5 cm. Künstlerinfo: eigentl. Hans Vredeman de Vries, dt.-niederländischer Architekt und Maler (1527 Leeuwarden/Friesland bis 1604 Antwerpen), Lehre als Glasmaler, 1549 Mitarbeit an der Errichtung und Ausschmückung des Triumphbogens für Karl V. und Philipp II. in Antwerpen, in Mecheln Mitarbeiter von Dorizi, 1563/64 Übersiedlung nach Antwerpen, nachfolgend tätig in Aachen und Lüttich, 1575 Rückkehr nach Antwerpen, 1586-89 am Hof von Herzog Julius in Braunschweig, Ausmalung des Sommerratssaals im Rathaus von Danzig, bis 1596 am Hof von Kaiser Rudolf II. in Prag tätig, Quelle: Thieme-Becker und Deutsche Biographien.

Six sheets depicting various buildings and building ensembles, some with figural staffage, invented by de Vries and published by Philipp Galle in Antwerp, copper engravings, c. 1600, mostly inscribed in the plate "Vriese inv." and "Galle exud.", some sheets trimmed, some somewhat stained, image dimensions c. 16 x 21 cm, sheet dimensions c. 18 x 23.5 cm. Artist information: actually Hans Vredeman de Vries, German-Dutch architect and painter.Dutch architect and painter (1527 Leeuwarden/Friesland to 1604 Antwerp), trained as a glass painter, in 1549 he worked on the construction and decoration of the triumphal arch for Charles V and Philip II in Antwerp. in Antwerp, collaborated with Dorizi in Mechelen, moved to Antwerp in 1563/64, subsequently worked in Aachen and Liège, returned to Antwerp in 1575, 1586-89 at the court of Duke Julius in Brunswick, painted the summer council chamber in the town hall of Gdansk, worked at the court of Emperor Rudolf II in Prague until 1596, source: Thieme-Becker and German Biographies.
