Jh., ungemarkt, Bronze dunkelbraun patiniert, Darstellung des Merkur/Hermes mit geflügeltem Helm und Beinen, als von Weinlaub bedeckter Akt, in den Händen den caduceus (Stab) und ein marsupium (Geldbeutel), auf dem Kopf Äolus, den Gott des Windes, in der ausgestreckten Hand jeweils Montierung für Kerzentüllen tragend, diese fehlen, auf mehrteiligem Sockel aus Onyx und Messing montiert, starke Altersspuren, partiell restauriert, H je 31 cm.
Pair of figurative candlesticks as Hermes19th cent, unmarked, dark brown patinated bronze, depicting Mercury/Hermes with winged helmet and legs, as a nude covered in vine leaves, holding the caduceus (staff) and a marsupium (purse) in his hands, on his head Aeolus, the god of wind, each carrying a mount for candle spouts in his outstretched hand, these missing, mounted on a multi-part onyx and brass base, strong traces of age, partially restored, h 31 cm each.
