Künstlerinfo: dt. Artist information: German painter, draughtsman, graphic artist and sculptor (1915 Schneidemühl/West Prussia to 2005 Cologne), in 1921 the family moved to Berlin, 1934-39 studied at the Hochschule für Kunsterziehung in Berlin and at the Kunstakademie in Düsseldorf, 1939-45 soldier in World War 2, in the bombing raids. World War II, all his work destroyed in the bombing raids on Berlin, 1947-68 worked in Frankfurt am Main, 1949 met his future wife, the artist Ursula Blum, from 1951 regular stays in Paris and first informal paintings, 1964 took part in documenta 3, 1968 moved to Cologne, 1972-92 member of the Akademie der Künste, numerous study trips, source: Wikipedia and the artist's website.
