DOUBLE BASS BOW “EXPION” BY EMILE AUGUSTE OUCHARD ET FILS
A used double bass bow from the famous French bow making family Ouchard. The bow is stamped "EXPion" on the stick. Opposite is the maker's note "E A OUCHARD Fils". According to the signature, the double bass bow was made by Emile Auguste OUCHARD between 1937 and 1940 and possibly presented at a world exhibition (possibly 1937 in Paris). Various signs of age and use are visible. The bow was probably originally equipped with a frog and legs for the upper fingering and was probably later modified for the German fingering.
Length: 78.5cm, weight: 136g.
