SIGNED MINIATURE PORTRAIT OF A YOUNG OFFICER IN A GRAY UNIFORM WITH RED COLLAR
Watercolor and gum arabic on ivory, signed "W. Fest", around 1830
7.7 x 6.4 cm, frame: 14x 12 cm
Miniatures by Wilhelm FEST (act.1829-c.1839), who took part in the Berlin Academy exhibition in 1832, are extremely rare. A signed child portrait dated 1829, probably created in Vienna, is in the Albertina.
