relined on newer panel, probably 17th c.
28.5 x 22 cm
A label on the back not only dates the icon to the end of the 15th century, but also states the following provenance: Hanns Teichert Collection. Exhibitions: Museum of Russian Art, Moscow, 1914-1916, University of Illinois, Urbana, 1944 and 1956; Indiana University Art Center, Bloomington, 1948. We were unable to verify the information.
