Pr Lrg 18th/19th c. Continental Wooden Angels
Pair of large 18th to 19th century continental carved and gessoed wooden angels, putti, or cherubs. Each with gilt wings.

Provenance: From the Estate of Horst Rechelbacher, Osceola, Wisconsin.

Horst Rechelbacher, the founder of Aveda and Intelligent Nutrients, was a pioneer in the field of safe and eco-friendly cosmetics. The same curiosity that led him to explore ways to improve the beauty industry led him to travel the world, collecting rare and beautiful objects as he went.

Angel looking upward; height: 29 in x width: 20 in x depth: 11 in. The other angel; height: 26 in x width: 17 1/2 in x depth: 10 in.
Condition: Scattered losses to the painted and gilt decoration throughout. Light splits to the wood throughout. Dirt and dust collected in the recessed areas of the works.
