Terracotta oil lamp. From the Holy Land. Byzantine late 5th-8th century AD
Often referred to as slipper lamps due to their shape, this lamp sits on a ring base and its handle is bordered by a small dot. The shoulders are decorated with radiating lines and the spout depicts a stylized palm tree, sometimes called the tree of life.
In excellent and original condition with a natural patina of the Holy Land.
