Following the models of MATEO CEREZO (Burgos 1637 - Madrid 1666) - Penitent Magdalene, Spanish School of the 19th century - Oil on canvas. Dimensions: 98 x 77 cm. Inspired by the devotional models of the Spanish Baroque, this work follows the compositional patterns of Mateo Cerezo in his representation of the penitent Magdalene, immersed in deep prayer before the cross. The scene stands out for its strong contrast of light and shadow, which envelops the figure in an atmosphere of introspection and contemplation, evoking the emotional intensity characteristic of the Golden Age. The dense brushstrokes and detailed modelling of the face convey the anguish and repentance of the saint, in a work that combines technique and spirituality.
