Rabbi Moshe Aharon Paleyew - (Polayev, 1888-1967) was the head of a Lithuanian-American yeshiva, served as the head of the Yeshiva of Rabbeinu Yitzchak Elchanan in New York for nearly fifty years. He studied at the Slutsk Yeshiva and was the outstanding disciple of Rabbi Isser Zalman Meltzer, who also trusted him in the rabbinate in 1810, also participated in the editing of the Torah journal Yagdil Torah, initiated by his teacher.
Rabbi Israel Porat (1886-1974) was a Jerusalem talmid hakham, a disciple of R. Kook, the only Ashkenazic rabbi ever offered to serve as the sage of Bashi, who served for about 50 years as a central rabbi in Cleveland , Ohio, author of "Introduction to the Talmud".
