Russian Army - Officer’s Helmet Plate of Fieldjaeger's
Imperial Russian Officer’s Helmet Plate of the Fieldjaeger's. The eagle was used in 1833-1856 on the shakos of the Russian Infantry. The insignia is in the form of a double headed crowned eagle, with a shield showing St.George slaying the dragon. The eagle is seated on an amazon shield with the royal inicial of Tsar Nicholas I. Visible maker mark. A fine example of an officer’s helmet plate, made more finely with better quality. Corps of the Russian Imperial Army Fieldjaeger's, provided reliable courier services for Tsar, the court and other high men government officials (delivery of orders, secret reports, securities, parcels, transport of gold, large sums of money, delivery of captured banners, etc.), a also escorting and protecting high-ranking people. The corps was created only from most trusted members of the Body Guard, a small elite group of the Russian Army.
