- Early work by the most famous German colourist of post-war art
- The painting precedes his famous 'Farbraumkörper' and already shows the subtle use of colour and the spiritual quality of his works
- On his way to creating his own oeuvre, Graubner was particularly fascinated by the 'Grands maitres des couleurs' such as Titian, Tintoretto, Turner and Monet
