Impressive bronze of a naked athletic warrior after the fight by Hermann Hosaeus, cast at Gladenbeck Berlin.Representative, expressive and detailed imposing bronze ( 50cm long, 47cm high, 20cm deep and weighing about 19 kg! ) of a naked athlete after the fight on the back of an exhausted drinking horse. The artist has captured this moment in an impressive way with fine details and great skill. The bronze sculpture was shown and awarded a prize at the Great Berlin Art Exhibition in 1899 and exhibited at the Glass Palace in Munich in 1900. Today it is in the collection of the National Gallery, National Museums in Berlin, among others. Bronze with beautiful dark brown patina, extremely good condition according to age (no damage or missing parts!), inscribed on the bronze plinth with "Hoseus" and the foundry stamp of the renowned bronze foundry "Akt.-Ges. Gladenbeck Berlin". Mounted on a flat marble base which has small blemishes.Hermann Hoseus ( * 1875 in Eisenach/Thuringia † 1958 in Berlin ) attended from 1892 to 1894 the arts and crafts schools in Dresden and Nuremberg before he studied at the Munich Academy of Art and finally became a master student of Reinhold Begas from 1898. During his creative period, he created important large sculptures (the monumental Hindenburg Monument on the Kyffhäuser and the Mozart Fountain in Dresden are worth mentioning here). His most important small sculpture, however, remained the bronze "After the battle" offered here. Der Künstler hat auf beeindruckende Weise mit feinen Details und großem Können diesen Moment eingefangen. Die Bronzeplastik wurde auf der Großen Berliner Kunstausstellung 1899 gezeigt und prämiert und im Glaspalast in München 1900 ausgestellt. Heute befindet sie sich unter anderem im Bestand der Nationalgalerie, Staatliche Museen zu Berlin. Bronze mit wunderschöner dunkelbrauner Patina, altersgemäß extrem guter Zustand (keine Beschädigungen oder fehlende Teile!), bezeichnet auf der Bronzeplinthe mit "Hoseus" und dem Gießereistempel der namhaften Bronzegießerei "Akt.-Ges. Gladenbeck Berlin".
