Antique shame mask in the style of the 17th century.Wrought iron mask, probably German Historicism in the style of the 17th century, multiple rivets, mouth with long tongue-like extension (28cm), long protruding spiral ears. At the neck with movable holding clamps with 2 hinges and eyelet for padlock. Large carrying handle at the top. Masks of shame were intended to ridicule the wearer and serve as a punishment of honor, they were available in different designs depending on the offense. H. 46cm. Jh., mehrfach vernietet, Mund mit langem zungenartigem Fortsatz (28cm), lange abstehende Spiralohren. Am Hals mit beweglichen Halteschellen mit 2 Scharnieren und Öse für Vorhängeschloss. Oben großer Tragegriff. Schandmasken sollten den Träger lächerlich stellen und der Ehrenstrafe dienen, es gab sie in verschiedenen Ausführungen abhängig vom Vergehen. H. 46cm. Gewicht 2,9kg
