Graphic artist and painter (1909 Rot an der Rot to 1981 Eningen unter Achalm), studied at the Reutlingen School of Arts and Crafts, 1926-27 typesetting apprenticeship in Reutlingen and parallel calligraphy studies in Stuttgart until 1928, 1928-31 study visits to London and Paris, followed by study trips to Egypt and Greece, 1933-45 banned from his profession, 1951-53 teacher at the Bernsteinschule near Sulz am Neckar, 1955-60 professor and successor to Erich Heckel at the Karlsruhe Academy, received numerous prizes and honors, participated in Documents I, II and III, active in Eningen unter Achalm and Reutlingen, source: Wikipedia, Vollmer and Internet.
