Byeri ritual figure, probably Fang, Gabon 19th century.
Female figure carved from solid wood with a dark patina. Standing figure with her hands resting on her thighs. The female attributes and navel are clearly emphasized, she wears an elaborate hairstyle and shows her teeth to the viewer. A rod is attached to the back for fastening. Height approx. 75 cm. Significant signs of age and wear, dry cracks, traces of insect damage, missing parts, both feet damaged.
