The Austrian painter Maria Tlusty, a half-sister of the Styrian painter Ernst Weber, studied at the Vienna School of Applied Arts and received the Eitelberger Prize there in 1923. In the exhibition celebrating the 60th anniversary of the School of Applied Arts, Tlusty was represented with the design for a goblin. After her training, she worked as an enameller and painter for the Wiener Werkstätte. During National Socialism, Tlusty worked in Victor Theodor Slama's studio, where she painted film posters for Vienna's premier cinemas together with Otto Trubel. The close collaboration with Slama continued in the Second Republic. Tlusty was part of the core team on “Never Forget!” and other exhibition productions Slamas. Works by Maria Tlusty for the Wiener Werkstätte are in the Museum of Applied Arts.
