Enamel sign, convex, stenciled and lithographed, Vevey/CH around 1930, 35 x 50 cm, the Art Deco design of this piece of jewellery is by Charles Kühn, whose works have already been exhibited at the MoMa (Museum of Modern Art, New York). Alongside the "Albabgang" from Chocolat Klaus, the Frigor "polar bear" and the Cailler "children", this sign is one of the "big 4" of Swiss chocolate advertising. It lay dormant in an Austrian collection for a long time before we were entrusted with it for auction. Shine and colours are well preserved, as with many of these signs there is some spiders from the edge, but especially the thickly filled enamelling of the wrapper is a delight! GERMAN DESCRIPTION: Emailschild, gewölbt, schabloniert und lithographiert, Vevey/CH um 1930, 35 x 50 cm, der Art Deco Entwurf dieses Schmuckstückes stammt von Charles Kühn, dessen Werke auch bereits im MoMa (Museum of Modern Art, New York) ausgestellt wurden. Neben dem "Alpabgang" von Chocolat Klaus, dem Frigor "Eisbären" und den Cailler-"Kindern" gehört dieses Schild zu den "Big 4" der schweizer Schokoladenreklame. Lange schlummerte es in einer österreichischen Sammlung, bevor wir es nun zu Auktion anvertraut bekamen. Glanz und Farben sind bestens erhalten, wie bei vielen dieser Schilder gibt es etwas Spinnenbildung vom Rand, gerade die dick aufgetragene Emaillierung der Packung ist aber ein Hochgenuss!
