Reverse glass print in original cast iron frame, GER around 1925, 50 x 71 cm, right of the image with a small air bubble, the design is by Martin Lehmann-Steglitz - as you can see, the advertising was initially designed for the Goerz company, but after the merger with other companies in the photo-optical industry to form Zeiss Ikon AG, the rights to the graphics were transferred to the joint-stock company, so they could then also be used for other brands. This plate is the only one we know of for the Goerz brand, it is almost immaculately preserved, still with the old lead covering on the back and the wooden strips for reinforcement. I GERMAN DESCRIPTION: Hinterglasdruck in originalem gusseisernem Rahmen, Berlin um 1925, 50 x 71 cm, rechts neben dem Motiv ein kleiner Lufteinschluss, der Entwurf stammt von Martin Lehmann-Steglitz - wie man sieht war die Werbung zunächst für die Fa. Goerz gestaltet, durch die Fusionierung mit anderen Unternehmen der foto-optischen Industrie zur Zeiss Ikon AG gingen die Rechte an den Grafiken an die Aktiengesellschaft über, entsprechend konnte man sie dann auch für andere Marken nutzen. Dieses Schild ist das einzige uns bekannte Exemplar für die Marke Goerz, es ist nahezu makellos erhalten, rückseitig noch mit alter Bleiverkleidung und den Holzleisten zur Verstärkung.
