Typewritten letter with Nina Berberova's handwritten inscription saying she invites Nadezhda Kramova in Princeton and promising to tell a lot.
Information:
Nina Nikolaevna Berberova (1901–1993) - a writer, author of documentary biographical studies and memoirs. She emigrated in 1922 together with her first husband, the poet Vladislav Khodasevich. Nadezhda Friedland-Kramova (1899-2002) - poetess, actress, playwright, writer, translator. She graduated from the famous Gymnasium Stoyunina, then the School of Russian Drama, attended the poetic seminar of Nikolai Gumilyov. In the 1920s she played in the well-known Petrograd theater "Balaganchik", starred in many films ("Napoleon-Gas", "Grand Hotel", "Minaret of Death", etc.). In the 1960s and 1970s, her Leningrad apartment was one of the literary life's centers of the city through the friendship of her daughter Lyudmila Stern with Joseph Brodsky, Yevgeny Rein, Dmitry Bobyshev and Anatoly Naiman. In 1976 she emigrated with her family to the USA.
