Artist's info: German painter, graphic artist and restorer (1921 Georgswalde/Czechoslovakia until 2009 Bad Sulza), apprenticeship as decorative painter, Reichsarbeitsdienst, soldier in the 2nd World War, 1944-46 French war. World War II, 1944-46 French prisoner of war, 1949-53 studied at the art academies of Weimar and Dresden with Otto Herbig and Hans Grundig, from 1953 resident in Bad Sulza, 1985-89 restoration of the baptistery and altar of the Seemannskirche in Prerow, member of the VBK of the GDR, source: Vollmer, Eisold "Künstler in der DDR" and Wikipedia.
