The Vices of Man, Four Drawings
Four depictions from a series of human vices, including two depictions of gambling addiction and two depictions of lust and covetousness, in which an older man tries to bribe a young woman and an older woman tries to bribe a younger man with money. an older woman trying to bribe a younger man with money, mixed media (ink, watercolour, gouache) in the style of trompe-l'œil painting on paper, probably around 1800, each numbered Roman "II", "III", "VII" and "VIII" at lower right, unsigned, two stamps on the reverse, partly fragmentary, "Zentralstelle für Denkmalschutz im Bundesmin. f. Unterricht". Unterricht", slight signs of age, framed as counterparts behind glass, folding dimensions each approx. 13.5 x 10.5 cm.
